This depends on the artwork and how much customization is involved. When we go through the questionnaire and consultation process, I try to be as thorough as possible so I can understand the tone of your book. As a general rule, I recommend the design process start (when I start drafting concepts) between 2-6 months prior to your book launch.

To be honest, I haven't done detailed figure drawing since design school! I'd rather work with talented illustrators when it comes to that. But if you're looking for something a little more on the abstract side, we can definitely talk about that for your cover. I'm always open to using different types of art - icons, graphics and photos for your cover.

That's for me to worry about! :) As a designer with an extensive advertising background, I can create and set up your book cover art so that it will pass checks by your publisher. If you are working with an illustrator, I'm happy to collaborate with them to ensure your cover will print/display properly.
